Governance
Ensuring the best for our students
The British International School of Stockholm (BISS) operates as a non-profit institution under the management of Stiftelsen Borgen 2. The strategic direction and oversight of the school are handled by a dedicated Board of Governors, elected to represent the interests of parents, staff, and the local community.
Board Responsibilities
The Board of Governors is responsible for:
- Strategic Direction: Formulating and publishing the school’s goals and visions, as well as engaging in long-term strategic planning.
- Financial Oversight: Ensuring that the foundation maintains a satisfactory budget, conducts regular financial follow-ups, and manages accounting and fund allocation effectively.
- Policy Development: Establishing guidelines and policies for both ongoing school operations and long-term planning.
The Board meets regularly to review progress towards the school’s short, medium, and long-term goals. It receives updates from the School Leadership Team and delegates day-to-day operations to the Principal and Senior Leadership Team.
